1990 IROC-Z Decal Postion...

Hey all...

I've come across a 1990 IROC-Z 5L which the owner states has the 1LE package. Who knows?...

The first thing I noticed was that the car has fog lamps. Now I've always thought the 1LE package did not have the fog lamps, no air etc.

Another thing that I noticed was that the IROC-Z badging on the door id towards the front, not the back. Are the decals supposed to be at the back of the door in 1990?... I thought so anyway.

If this car is a '90 with the 1LE package I may have another 3rd Gen.

I'll have to check the RPO's in the car, make sure it has 1LE and G92.

Any info would be great, thanks.

According to all i've read, 88thru90 Irocs had the door sticker to the back of the door. Also the Camaro White Book says that A/C was available it also says that fog lights were deleted but it doesnt say if they could be added or not. Hope this helps.

If those lights and stickers on that car are from the factory and haven't been added or moved, its not a 1LE or a 90.

Looking For:

The car I want.

84 TRANS AM 305 H.O.
Another car that would be OK to own while I still look for the IROC-Z!!

It's very easy to tell if the car is a 90. New dash treatment including air bag eqp't steering wheel. The car must have been repainted and someone mistakenly put the Iroc decals in the 85-87 location (forward)rather than the 88-90 location (rear of door).

If it's a 1LE, it will have "1LE" in the RPO codes.
