I wouldn't mind walking into what was an abandoned GM warehouse and finding one of these...

I think it had an L98, or maybe an LT1. Not sure on that, but I know for sure it has a 6 speed.

Yeah I believe it had an modified L98 with a six speed. Worldwide Camaro Club put out an article on it. I'm sure I could find it if someone really wants to know. Also I think Traxion knows quite a bit about it.

The March 2001 issue of GMHTP has an article on the car. It would have been option code Z4F on a Camaro RS. Price tag $28K. 300 hp, modified L98. Tested at Raceway Park in Englishtown it ran 13.50's @ 104 mph. In a separate article they show the car again. Now running around the GM Mesa, AZ Testing Grounds. Only now it is painted yellow and sports a GMPP Ram Jet 350. Still sporting a ZF 6-speed & 4.10 rear end gear ratio. The engine puts out 350 hp @ 5250 rpm, 400 lb-ft tq @ 3500 rpm. Rumor of a coming GM Ram Jet 430. 8^)

The Legends tour was at Texas Motor Speedway? Dang, too bad I missed it..

That RS had a custom TPI intake, with really stinking cool runners and stuff... Niiiiice.

Im thinking of painting my car like that with the 92 Z hood. Were those stripes black, or really dark grey?

I was lucky enough to sit in it

They must have added that window sticker recently because it wasn't there when I saw it.

Dave, here's the schedule for 2001. http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/cam1...r/schedule.htm

With the internet the way it is, I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised to find their own website.

jm from cincy..what is that, like a 4 our ride for you? I was able to see the tour last year at the fall classic in Kent. If going for the legends tour only, I'd even be hesitant. Otherwise, the show usually hosts to over a hundred camaros of all gens...here's a link with some of the cars that came. http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/my1stcamaro92rs

It's two days of judging, comaraderie and fun for all. I had a good time and it was my first time at the show.
