Re: two L69 SPIDs (interesting find)

I came upon this interesting thing while looking through my L69 SPIDs for RPO code J42 (which neither had). I have an '84 L69 MD8 built in Norwood (VIN code N) and it specifies GT4 (3.73 gears). I also have another '84 L69 MD8, but built in Van Nuys (VIN code L, RPO code VAN) and it does not specify at all what gearing (GT?). Now get this, they both have differential codes 6EB (3.73 gears, open) stamped on the housings. I wonder if my red Z28 has had the differential changed out. So, for some of you who have been following this dilema of what gears auto L69s had ... apparently 3.73s were optional. I can only leave it at that since my SPID sheet does not show a specified gear ratio (which could be 3.42, I'll have to open the rear to find out).
