Is my car worth restoring?

I was wondering if i should keep it.or sell it now to buy a formula.

What is this worth.
1987 Trans Am GTA
Hardtop 305 5spd,all power,Borg warner 3.45 posi,Grey cloth.Analog guages,not digital.

From what i've read. the b/w 3.45 posi was only put in 706 cars in 87.

It doesn't sound very rare but if you like the car then you should.

I disagree with 92 GTA on this one.....

The 1987 GTAs were built with the 5.7L engine first, and the 5.0L was strictly an order-only engine to get the 5-speed manual.

With the numbers that you have posted, the 3.45 was the only ratio available with the 5-speed, and that's only a small percentage of the overall GTA production. With it being a first-year car and all, I'd say it's pretty rare, and a definite keeper in my book.

When you say Formula here, are you talking about a thirdgen Formula? I would much rather have a GTA than a thirdgen Formula. The GTA was the "top of the line" Firebird during our years and seeing as you sound somewhat concerned about future value, I think the GTA would be worth more when compared to the Formula. I am almost positive that there were more Formulas made, during each year, then GTA's. This should also make your car a bit more valuable.

To tell you the truth i've allways wanted the Formula Third gens then a GTA,But i couldn't find any.now there is a 89 formula 350 for sale and i want it.I love my GTA but im only 19 and i can't afford both cars 'i might be able to in a month or two if all goes well'.Im at the point of should i rebuild or just sell.Im not into buying for collectible purposes but if my GTA will be worth something in a few years i might be inclined to keep it.

ahhhhhhhhh,Torn between two cars

Stock, beautiful GTAs...drool .
Best looking, most comfortable and I love the badging, especially the one on the nose.

Restore, and enjoy it stock.

Hardtop 305s w/5speeds are unusual as most ordered 305s for the T-tops but not always with the 5speed. I think a 5speed hardtop GTA is rare.
