WHERE DO I LOOK TO SEE IF I HAVE MY ORIGINAL ENGINE? DO I MATCH THE VIN # WITH SOMETHING ON THE ENGINE. ALSO HOW DO I CHECK MY TRANS TO SEE IF IT IS THE ORIGINAL? IF MY ENGINE IS NOT ORIGINAL IT WILL MAKE ME WANT TO SWITCH TO A 5.7 SOONER THAN PLANNED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

What's up Andre? Hey, if you want to come by this weekend we should be able to figure it out. I'll be home all weekend, I'm parting out the IROC and the maroon Trans Am. You can also pick up that cargo cover if you want.

 

The last numbers of your VIn (or sequence number) should appear stamped on a pad on the block. I think it's passenger side just in front of the passenger side head. If not try the drivers side. That number should match. The pad will also contain other numbers infront that tell what engine, when and where it was built etc. The tranny will have similar numbers stamped also.
