Orginal V8 Camaro or not?

In a local junkyard there is an 84 camaro with a 305 that has a weiand intake, Holley 600, Headers, and a Flowmaster muffler. The owner only wants $950 and its actually pretty nice. However, I am wondering if its an original V8 car or not. I ask this bacause I haven't had a chance to check the VIN, but more importantly, the car has no tach. Where the tachometer is normally I believe the gas gauge is. It looks factory and I really wouldn't mind not having a tach Im just concerned that the swap was possibly a real half *** kind of effort. Would this car be worth the money with its rust free body and goodies? Thanks everyone.

Car: 2004 Chevy Avalanche
Engine: Some that run, some that don't
Transmission: 700R4's, a T-5, and a Turbo 350
Regardless of whether the engine is stock or not any rust free car that runs has got to be worth $950. If you want a tach dash for it I have one from an '84 Z28 I'll sell. E-mail me if you're interested.

If its a real basic, stripped Sport Coupe, I don't see why you couldn't have gotten a V8 without a tach...it was not mandatory, it just woulda made sense

alot of the LG4 cars never got a tach... Not like it matters on an automatic car, you put it in drive and it goes.

On the sport coupes '82-'87 the gage package was an option (RPO U21) and was $149.
