83 Orginal Radio in a 67 ?

Would an orginal 83 radio fit in a 1967 camaro? I didn't think it would but I thought I'd ask anyway.......Thanks in advance.

I dont think it will. The 83 Radio if from a Camaro or Firebird was a din and 1/2 size whereas the 67 Camaro only had the 2 **** style. Unless you wanted to do a lot of modification I would say no.

Hacksaw, chisel and big hammer...you can make anything fit anywhere with those.

No, 67 was a "din" sized radio and the 3rd gens are din-and- a-half.

it's certainly not a direct fit, but if you had a strong enough desire to butcher the dash of a classic in order to get one of the lowest quality, most unreliable radios ever produced into it, I'm sure it can be done.

i would have to agree on that one,you would be a lot better off spending a few bucks and getting an aftermarket radio. one company USA-1 makes a custom fit radio designed specifically for your car.you can even add one of their changers. the way that dash slopes inward it would be difficult to put a cd player in the stock location.

I wasn't actually going to do it, I just needed to know for future use. Thanks though.
