Info on 1987 Camaro, please?
I am working on restoring an 87 Camaro and am wondering about the decaling on the car. I have yet to see another Camaro with this set of decals and was wondering if this was something special or can I just heatgun them off and repaint the car?
The car is a 1987 EFX 2.8 FI (yep, a 6 popper..) The body color on the car is black with silver EFX decals and stripes.
Any information on this would be appreciated as this is my first project car (hey, I wanted an easy one to start with <G>)
Thanks
Karyn

Since there was no Camaro EFX, it sounds like someone added the stripes or at least the EFX decals later. Post a pic if you can and we will tell you for sure. Some of the striping may be original, as they came with a set of stripes just above the rocker panels which went all of the way around the car.

Blue, I'll try and get some pics of this car in the morning. From talking to the orginal owner of this car (it was bought here in Maryland) these decals were on the car when it came out of the showroom. The car has wide silver decaling around the lower part of the body, silver 1/4" striping around the top roll, EFX decals on the door posts. From the front, the car has silver lining on the headlights with black stripe decals. The hood has silver decal strips in a U shape from the top of the hood, ending with a bunch of silver stripe with the EFX letters in the stripes.
I'll try and get some pictures of it in the morning so you can see what I am trying to explain. <G>

Dealers do that alot of times... they'll cut a deal with one of the local sign shops or whatever, and dress up a car or 2 somehow. So it very well might have come from the dealer like that even tough like the other post said it didn't leave the factory that way.
