Basement

Today i visited my grandparents. I was looking through some stuff in there basement, and found some of my uncles old hot rod mags from the 1980s. Thirdgens were so popular back in the day. Seemed like every page theres a 3rd gen ad/pic/article. They also had some lil articles on tpi and stuff. Here are some pics. Sorry there not the greatest quality pix. My camera sucks..

You think i can mail that coupon in and maybe win that brand new Iroc Z

Thats cool. I also noticed in a lot of 80's shows, when they wanted a "cool" car, they always brought in the fbodies! I almost never seen a corvette.

lol

Lot of those in my mass of magazines I'm trying to sell.

I like seeing IROC racing from the 80's and NAscar from than too.

Remember when racing didnt have lame rules to make it PC and the cars actually looked like what you bought. lol

You were the **** if you had an 80's f-body back in the 80's.

You were guaranteed to get laid/be the most popular person at your school/be the envy of everybody at your work if you had one.

I think honestly, and i'm not saying this because I am a fan of them, but the 3rd gen F-bodies were probably THE most popular car of the 80's.

to me, my car is like a time warp, and sometimes old movies like breakfast club, beverly hills cop, and songs from guns and roses make me imagine of what it would have been like to be cruisen in my car 80's style, with the radio blastin "new" stuff from don henly, j geils band, blondie, the cars, and even aerosmith.
but nothing says 80's like a fully decked out GTA

Facts don't lie. From 82 to 92 Chevy made around 1,184,506 Camaros alone. But just look at 3rd gens compared to any other car in the 80's. I mean these things looked fuggin mean. They looked aerodynamic, had a V8, ttops, flashy colors, 2 doors, big rims (for the 80s ). It was a true sports car in the 80's.

Everyone talking about picking up girls with these cars in the 80s. They work for this time period too!

When I first bought my camaro lsat may (of 05) I tested it out by stopping up to girls and gettin numbers and stuff. Works great!

Makes me think... wer always talking about buyin the car for performance and this and that... the cars also great for reelin in girls.

Maybe TGO should make a forum called Girls Picked Up?

BTW, those magazines are awesome!

cool. they gave em to ya. grandparents rule.
i don't get it. my GTA is freakin cherry. NO outside visable problems. only intirior issues are a cracked lock leaver on the drivers side and a headliner sag (tacked back up with staples) and most people don't even notice that. yet chicks NEVER give my car a second look. however, some a-hole in a "import-tuner" styled acura integra gets laid on an hourly basis. this is total import country. Oregon sucks, stupid ricers.

Thats what makes thirdgens so awesome. They still have that modern look to them (esp the gfx cars) But still have that classy look. No other gen can pull the classy/modern look. Not even 4th gens. They dont look really classy to me. Thats why thirdgens are the last of the classics
