What is a 92 B4C worth?
I have an opportunity to buy a 92 B4C with a 305 5-speed. It has 130k miles and needs some work. No power options.
They estimate $5k to get it totally running. It is running but needs some work.
Let me know what a fair price is?
If this was a 350 auto, what is the difference in price.
Thanks!!!

The car is basically worth whatever you are willing to pay. I just picked up a '91 B4C Camaro, loaded, with 56k miles on it. It is a 305/5-speed also and I think I overpaid a little. Treat it like a stripped Z28, it is basically the same car, only benefits are the 1LE front brake setup. How much is the guy asking? If it's gonna take $5k to get it up and running, it's not worth much in my opinion. Maybe $1k? JMO though.

The rarity and shear performance of the cars makes them very desirable. There are actually 2 92s for sale within 5 miles of each other near me. One is at a dealer, the other is a private sale. The dealer was asking $5500 for it before the paint job. I don't know what he's asking now. It has the L98 and about 100k miles. The other is also an L98, but milage and asking price is unknown. These are getting harder and harder to find. I should pick up that one being sold privately if the price is right. Hmm. Maybe I'll stop tonight and get the phone number.

Sean,
That is what I was thinking. I am willing to pay about 1k for it. I have not seen it yet but I will ask for pics and of course all the RPO's.
Jim, I am thinking the same. There are alot of 100k+ miles B4C's being sold now. Perhaps the time is now to buy one cheap and put some money into it.
IMO, in 5 years, these will be harder to find and in 10 years, the prices will jump up a little.
If I can get it for under $1k, I will probably get it.
I always wanted a 92 B4C so instead of getting a non service low mileage one, I will probably buy a 100k+ miles 92 B4C.
I appreciate the info and will let you know if I get it.

I got the phone number for the one being offered through a private sale. It has 107k on it. Solid body with a couple small dings, and the interior's good except for the driver seat and the dash where all the police instrumentation was installed. I think if it's mechanically sound and I can get him to go down to $4k I'm gonna snag it.

4k will be a decent price on the Blue one. I have seen a bunch of 92' NYS cars for sell on the eastern side of the country. As well as several X-TX DPS camaro's. Good luck.

I called on it tonight. That jackass wants $8500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The body has a million small scratches & dents, the wheels have curb rash and the clear is coming off of them. The dash pad has all of the crap left over from the police equipment and the seat's torn. $8500!!!!!!!!!! It's got a new motor and a fairly new trans, but who the hell knows what either of them is. I doubt the motor is an actual L98, it's probably a 200 horse parts-america special. $8500!!!!!!!! Guess I'll just keep trying to make my IROC run right.

Jim,
some people that have these are asking way too much sometimes.
There was one 92 in California that had I believe 140k miles, 350 and they wanted $7800.
I backed away from that one immediately.
On the other side of that, there was a 92 305 for 42k out in San Diego. I bet I could have got the guy to go down to about $1500.
As for the 92 B4C I am looking at, I am still trying to get some more info.

tohigh4you,
I would like to take a look at it. Are you going to the Texas Heat Wave Custom Car show this weekend at the Dell Diamond?
Let me know. I live in Pflugerville but work in Austin!!!
