91 Z 'vert, how much is this car actually worth?

Hey guys..
There is a 91 Z 'vert with the 305/5spd. combo for sale in Houston.... 83k mi. Runs great, shifts easily, new clutch, new top.
The trunk lid has a little surface rust on the edges.... not much, but a little. The interior is black, and is in nearly mint condition.

How much is this car worth? The guy wants 7800, how crazy is this price for this car?

Thanks!
Daniel

It is not bad but offer him $6000 and work from there.

Be careful with the floding in Houston last month. My step dad almost bought a hell of a deal on a truck in Hempstead and backed out when he investigated and found out it was a flooded truck!!! There are alot of people trying to get rid of the flooded cars now in that area.

Have it totally checked out!!!

Hope this helps!!!

Manny

I bought my 1989 IROC convertible here in Houston September 2000 from the original lady owner. She had service records that documented the 77,350 miles on the odometer. The car was garaged, driven to and from work mainly. Unhit, unmolested, original white paint with a nice grey cloth interior. 22 options with Tuned Port motor. She wanted $7,500.00. I offered $5,000.00. She laughed. I left. Eight days later she calls and tells me to come get it right now for the $5,000.00 I had offered.

I really wanted a coupe but this car was so damn nice and unmolested I just lowballed her so I could walk away from it. I don't believe I would have any problem selling it for the $5,000.00 I paid for it and that is at 116,000 miles now.

I missed a 1991 Z28 convertible in SW Houston this past spring by one day. A newly minted divorcee in his 50's got it for $5,500. My girlfriend was going to buy it for herself. It was even nicer than my car. Fresh quality original color red repaint. Gray leather with Tuned Port. All the options my car had plus split rear seat and a power antenna. Mileage was 103,000. The lady was 62 years old and the original owner. She wanted $7,500.00 or $7,800.00, in that range. My girlfriend and I drove it. It was a garaged very clean car. The older gentleman had seen the car the day before we did. He came back the day after we looked at it and got it in the morning before we could get there with the money. I told my girlfriend to take the money out of the bank and bring it with but she wouldn't do it. She still talks about that car and missing out by one day.

Price sounds right if its not beat to hell. Be picky, convertible parts are next to impossible to find and are expensive when you do.

Is it normal for people to be asking $1000 more then Blue Book Value? I've been looking at buying a camaro or firebird and most of the people are asking way to much. Should i just offer them Blue Book value and see if they'll take my offer like 89convertIROCer did?

I hope you left them your phone number. You may get a call accepting your offer. Until it is sold you still have a chance of getting it.
