Touching up your car?
Touching up your car?
I've touched up a few minor areas on my 15th Anniversary Trans Am with touch up paint. These surfaces are slightly higher than the original paint itself. Has anyone ever lightly wet-sanded the touch up paint spots? If so, what grit paper? Any certain process in which you did it where it won't affect the surrounding area?
I appreciate any feedback.

This can work really well on non-clear coat cars. Make sure the entire touched-up area is higher than the original, then sand it carefully with 600 or 800 grit paper. I usually use a 1" square block. Any bigger and you effect too much of the surrounding area. You need to hold the block real level so you don't go through the original paint, only take down the new stuff. Once it's down even, hit it with the buffer and it will look real good.
