Hey, man... it was great to meet you this past weekend at the SWMG!
As per your e-mail, my red '88 GTA has the original glass lenses on it. In fact, all GTAs originally came with glass lenses on the fog lamps. But the prohibitive replacement cost of these lenses (scaring $100 a piece....) have caused many to seek out aftermarket alternatives.
Blazer makes an exact replacement set of fog lamps that will fit a GTA and look original. They do feature plastic lenses, but you really can't tell by looking at them. They're a simple bolt on for our cars, with just a "cut and splice" on the light wiring necessary for installation.
Wal-Mart sells them for $19.95 per set in the automotive department. I have a set of them on my notchback GTA, and you really can't tell the difference.
Hope this helps.

Actually, those blazers are a whole lot less than a "bolt on" unless you're fortunate enough to still have the factory fog-light casing. Then you can just swap the lenses and the reflecter behind them. In my case, one of my fog lights was murdered; the bracketry and everything was broken. I had to use the entire blazer assembly instead of just the lense, which required custom fabrication. It wasn't hard, but it was quite time consuming. If I was smart I would have picked up a cheap factory assembly with broken glass, then replaced the guts with the Blazer stuff. If you want pics of my Blazer installation, let me know.

alright, i look really close at them today, and even thought i have taken the lenses off before, i didn't realy pay attention to them, but today i realized that they WERE glass
. the reason i guess i thought that they were plastic is because of how foggy and dirty they are, looks kinda like agged plastic, no the only problem is that i have one broken on and one non, and i just hope i can clean them so they will once again be clear, if they ever were. are the blazer brand ones a exact fit? because everything works perfect except for the lense.

On a side note, you should have seen me in Wal Mart. I had my entire stock fog light assembly there, and I was opening all of the packages and comparing the lights.

hey sorry to bring back an old post, but i cant seem to find what i need.
i need just the glass lens to replace my broken one on my pass. side fog.
i found the Optronics A16C CLEAR REPLACEMENT LENS FOR HI-16CL AND QH-16CT for just $5.00! but they are sold out at advance auto parts.com. no local parts store seems to have it either.
anyone know where else and what model # will fit as well? (just the lens!)
also, how does the lens fit onto the assembly, simply pop it in?
any help is appreciated, thanks!

If those lights are like all the others I've seen, then you'll be able to take the screw out holding the light to the original bracket.... then attach the GM bracket with the same long bolt to the new lights. If the bolt supplied is not long enough, then reuse your old GM bolts.
They will mount upside down (bolt to the top of the lens) to how they are mounted now in that photo, though. Then it should just be a matter of splicing in the factory wiring, and you're on your way. Good luck.
