does my car have posi????

I have an 89 formula WS6 305tbi AT. I think it has the 700r4. steel driveshaft.

The question i am asking is:
Does my car have posi/limited slip, or regular open end?

I have noticed that a few weeks ago i would powerbrake it for some rice burners to enjoy, and it would lay a mean a$$ posi, but the last couple times, i have been laying nice dark one-leggers... nice, but disappointing when i know it used to rip posi shots. Can anyone tell me what is up with that. Thanks!!!

Check for the RPO code G80, if you have that you have POSI, if not it's open, should be in your center console.

Honda engines ROCK, I have one on my lawn mower but I still have to push it.

Most TBI's are non-posi. The G80 code will tell you for sure.

I am under the same impression as Kevin; that most TBI cars are "peg legs". Finding a G80 code will confirm. Look at your SPID.

hey thanks for the help... I checked and there is no G80 code on my sticker. But why then is it able (or USED to be able) to rip a posi shot on newer and clean asphalt? There are no signs of tampering on the rear axle/diff, and the person i bought it from never put any mods on it, so i am pretty sure nobody did nothing to it. also, i can buy a spool for about $100... Is it worth it, and will i blow it up doiong what i do?
