Antilock brakes?

I have a 91 RS 3.1 auto you guys.. I've been wondering whether antilock brakes came with the cars back then? There's no mention of anti-lock in my manual, but when I drive the car, it has the distinctive feel of ABS, the tug release feeling. I haven't done a full hard brake yet to see if they lock, because I think the brakes might be going on me.. But anyways, would ABS come with my car? Was it even available as an option? Thanks a ton. I can get $5 or $10 off my insurance a month if it does have ABS.

Look under your master cylinder. If there is a box that the brake lines go into (a good sized box, not the metering block) with wires and cylinders on it, you probably have ABS. But I highly doubt they came in any F-Body before 93 or so, although my friends 89 Blazer came with it.

Absolutely, positively no thirdgens from the factory, available to the public, got ABS. 1993 was the first year for the F-body and ABS.

More likely than not, the pulsing you are feeling is coming from a warped rotor.

Really? D*mnit.. Oh well, I was going to get my brakes inspected and serviced anyways.. And get my Throttle Position Sensor checked out too..I think it's not working right. While I'm at it, I'll get a major tune up..I'm rolling close to 100-thou and I doubt the thing has been tuned up much, if at all..the last owners didn't repair anything on the car..they just let stuff slide by, so I had to fix it all.
