I would say yes it is a build sheet. It's probably an interior build sheet. Anything used by the workers to know what was to be installed on each individual car should be considered a build sheet (line sheet at the aircraft assy plant I used to work at). By this time in production there were probably more than one. The SPID may have also taken the place of the main build sheet.

I just pulled small peices out of the rear hatch/plastic panel cover.
Kinda weird I thought, since there is not lots of room there. Only got a few lines, and it was glued in with the black mastic crap from glueing the glass to the metal hatch section.

You'll know it when you see it, and it looks like the one from my 83T/A.

I think it was under one of the front seats.
It's been awhile ago, so that's the best I remember.

The SPID decal is as common as dirt. Most cars still have them, except for those who have had their consoles or console lids or whatnot replaced. The build sheet is considerably more rare.

"I just got a 88 iroc, and the first thing i noticed was the RPO/ SPID(?) sticker adhered to the top of the airbox lid, from what i heard they are hard to locate for the most part, guess i got lucky"
If the VIN# is correct for your car, someone removed it from either the console, or rear hatch compartment lid. That's where it should be. Yes, the spid sticker is common but worth a lot more than dirt and will verify vehicle build.

youre damned lucky
only ever found one in a third gen f body and that was in an 88 s/e
rare as hell to find
i find them all the time in the caprices and impalas and trucks and such though
always under the seat in them
