Firebird or T/A-X/E?

I thought that i knew every offering of the thirdgen firebird/camaros, until the other day a yellow and brown possibly early to mid 80's firebird with X/E painted on the door catches my eye sitting at a local garage. Just wondering if this was a rare model or possibly an owner modification/paint job.

Never heard of it!
By chance, did you get a photo of it?
I would like to see what it looks like.

Sounds like something some owner did to it, I once saw a early thirdgen T/A with IROC-T/A on the doors, same style graphic as an actual Z28 Iroc.

No, didn't get a chance to photo, although it looks very factory.

the x/e was a dealer installed option, which often included t tops and the decal mentioned. other than that it is strictly trim

there was the S/E which was a factory version of the firebird it was more luxury. THe XS was a dealer thing.
