Hey everyone, I am going to be repainting my formula in a few weeks after school lets out, anyways does anyone know where i can get the factory striping that goes where the paint colors meet, the car is Bright Red with a silver on the bottom and the stripe covers where the colors meet, i have searched everywhere and i can't find anyone that makes it or has it as a NOS item. Heres some pics for referenece... just click them for a larger size




also im not sure if this is in the right place, mods feel free to move it if necessary!

 

Anyone? Well if i cant find the striping, do you guys think that just red then silver on the bottom, would that look good without the stripe, also i am wondering if i should get the original formula graphics or the newer style....

 

I'd keep the correct Formula graphics on the car...

I'm going to put this on the H&R board as that board may help you track down what you need.

 

Only stripes I have ever found were for the T/A's nothing for the Formys or base model cars which had the same stripe.

i can duplicate every decal you have. But... mostly i need the car here to make the decals. But since i have a 87 GTA (bumpers almost the same) i can measure most things on the car. If you have good photographs and sizes maybe i can make a new set for you. I can ship worldwide. Look if you can find it nearby and if not and you desperately want to restore your car as it was after a paintjob let me know, maybe i can make a new set. I must judge the photos if they are usefull first.

I've done old mustangs and other brands of which the decals can't be bought new anymore. This week i've done a New Dodge Charger with HEMI daytona decals. And for that same car company a new Ford Mustang is waiting for me to apply decals like those on the shelby.

Thanks for all the insight, i like the way the stripe looks and i also like the look without the stripe but i kinda want the car to look like it was new, doesnt have to be perfect, The stripe is part of the package, like the aero spoiler, even tho it is MIA right now haha, see top pic, i removed the rusty piece of crap.

I have a NOS section of that exact stripe. I am willing to offer it to someone who will make a reproduction set for these cars since I don't see any company that does.

 

if that set is mailed to me, i can make an exact reproduction of it and then mail it back to you.

looks like it's 182 dollars.

 

That kit includes all the formula name decals, like for the sides and the 5.7 Liter FI decal for the hood..... but i dont think it includes the side stripe graphics. but for the help!
