Keep in mind, it is also is the lowest option TTA they made. The hard-top, cloth interior cars are rare and with 6k miles it sure is probably one of the lowest mile ones you'll ever see. I, however, would much rather by AT LEAST 3 T-top/Leather TTAs AND have some dough to blow to make them faster.

My mistake, I was thinking of the rarest of the rare, the cloth/hardtop, of which they only made 15 of. Good catch!

for that money that TA better run on water and drive its self
No argument the hardtop TTA's will be worth more in the future. But I'll be shocked if that alone doubles its value over an even lower mileage Tops/Leather car.
One thing about these TTA's (and most other crazy low mileage collector cars) - There's some collector to collector trades that go on behind the scenes for higher amounts than the ones you see on eBay. But not 79K for a TTA ... Yet (I hope)

i always thought i wanted a hardtop TTA (cause ttops leaked) until i realised that if i owned one it would be garage kept and would never see rain... and living in oregon that is sayingt alot. that means i would only put 2K a year on it dueing summer.
yeah, that guy is insane. it better have a set of solid gold SFCs under it or somthing... (those would not do much for flex, but damn! talk about bling!)

Someone has to test the waters - Let's hope this guy gets a good price ...

Mike,
The prices on these cars are on the rise. About a week ago a just under 3753 mile Leather/T-Top sold on ebay for 27,950. Based on that auction I would think my 5K mile would be worth at least 27,950.
My 1 of 15, 4K mile Cloth/Hardtop is worth even more, but not 80K yet.

Dave, I bought mine as an investment - So I definitely hope the prices go up, and maybe even take off! I paid high 20's for my tops/leather car with 1,200 miles on the odometer. Of all the cars I bought that month, I think the TTA has the most potential.
EDIT: Dave, I just noticed you live in Roseville. Your collection of cars sounds familiar to me. By any chance are you, or have you been, a member of Capital City Firebirds? I was myself when I lived in California - I drove a Sunset Orange Metallic '01 Firebird Formula with an ATI Procharger plus nitrous.

Yes, the hardtop/cloth interior cars are very rare but that doesn't always equal more money. In fact, I would bet that the T-top/leather cars will be worth the most money down the road. The actual cars used at Indy were T-top/leather cars and the cars that are most like the actual pace car used will likely pull in the most money. Cars with less options rarely pull in more money than fully loaded cars regardless of how many were made.

I was not in the Capital City Firebirds, but the Trans Am club. I am the guy who ran Trans-a-rama for a few years. Back then I had the Festival Car along with my Flame Red 19K mile GTA. I sold the GTA 3 years ago to buy the Cloth/Hardtop car. I do remember your car. Very nice!!!!
Welcome to the TTA brotherhood!

Dave, I remember now. I met you at a Golden State TA event that you put on at a Pontiac dealership there around SAC. It could have been Roseville, but it's been some years so I don't remember. That's also where I met some CCF folks.
Good group of folks up around SAC, but that drive from the Bay Area gets a little more difficult once the babies are born. Nice group of cars you've got there in your own collection.
Jeremy, it's actually not about 'rare' so much as it is supply and demand. I can go to any major auction and see 6-8 Hemi cars, all of which will bring between 100K-2M depending on what body they have wrapped around them. People usually mistake 'rare' for desireable ... Which isn't accurate.
