firebird dashpads DO NOT have the gap in the center for the vents and DO NOT have intergrated speaker grills, the speaker grills come out. that is how you can tell the difference in crappy pictures.

i have seen a few camaro pads before, and none of them looked like that, as far back as 84 and as recent as 91 i have never seen anything like those edges before.

I asked the seller about the year and model Camaro it came off of. I'll post as soon as (if) I hear back. Of course I like the disclaimer 'please no returns i took several pictures so u can see what you're buying makesure it fits your type of camaro as some types of models might be different'. It seems to look like Cavalier from what I remember of them.

It looks like an 84. Can't really see the leading edge very well. Those speaker grills look like they just snap on. I could be wrong though. It's been awhile since I've seen the 82-84 dash pads.

That's not an OEM dash... It's most likely an aftermarket replacement or a cheap JCWhitney slip-over cover. The OEM dash in the fbody never had a grill in the defroster openings.

82-83 Camaro have a ridge (simulated stiching) across the front edge from left to right. Otherwise they're identical to 84-92. The 84-92 dash is just smooth at the front. Sometime between 87 and 89 the screws in the defrost vents switched from phillips head to hex head.

82-84 Firebird dash looks similar to the Camaro dash, but the speaker grills are different and the dash is more angular. Again they have the simulated stiching on the front.

85-92 Firebird dashs are smooth like the later Camaro with seperate speaker grills and different side window defrost vents.

So, I have a 82 Berlinetta and always wondered if another third gen Camaro dashpad would fit it? I don't want to buy and and then be surprised and out of alot of money when it doesn't fit.

That's a good question... I would assume the standard Camaro dash would fit, but the Berlinetta is out in left field a lot of times. My best guess would be that since the 82 Berlinetta used the standard guage cluster, dash, console, radio, etc that it'd also use the standard dashpad. 84-86 with the Star Wars dash might not be the same.

I am almost 100% sure the 82-84 dash pads are the same for all Camaros, I am watching the sellers feedback to see what happens whtn the buyer tries to install the pad.

ALL 82-92 Dash pads are interchangeable. The first few years the edge was "squared" off rather than the 'sharper' lip on the 84 & up stye. Some of the newer dash pads also had the day-time-running light sensor mounted in them - but they will all fit any year Camaro.. ( Even our Berlinettas ! )

I know that the later style Firebird pads will not fit on the Camaro due to the center vents on the Camaro dah hosing............Anyone know if the early Firebird pads will fit on a Camaro ????

No they will not. 82-92 Firebird pads interchange.
