'92 RS Things to look for?
I found a half decent deal for a '92 RS, running, good wheels, brakes and all of that lovely stuff. She's got some surface rust in the wheelwells, is very dirty, and the paint has faded off. The interior is super clean aswell. The wheelwells were both solid. But what really goes wrong with the 92's? It's a V6, hardtop, grey interior, and power windows/locks.

check the floors! spare tire well, and rockers, other than that since it's a hardtop car there shouldn't be much to worry about on the inside of the car

The only real way to tell is to pull the carpet, I don't know if that is an option for you. If it's not, always be prepared for the worst, that carpet can hide a world of ugly.

What is the asking price for that car? Definitely try and check those floor pans. Also check the rear bumper support. Its a metal piece right under the back bumper. If its rusted away its a good bet that there is more rust hiding. Just check as many places as you can. Strut towers under the hood I hear are notorious as well, although I have never seen it in real life so I could not tell you what to look for.

That's only about a $500 car. If the paint buffs out (unlikely) it'll be hard to sell it for $1,000 or more. Paint would cost more then the car is worth (by about 5 times) unless you can do the work yourself or have a bodywork hookup. The only part that is worth anything if you part it out would be the front spoiler. The rest of the car is worth maybe $100 after you pull the gas tank, radiator, etc.
If you're worried about the rust, it'll usually start at the bottom of the doors and the rocker panels. Check the front of the rockers right behind the front fender. Usually if you can feel any rust there, you can push a screwdriver through it into the interior. Rear wheel wells tend to rust out in front of the wheels near the subframe rails. When the strut towers rust they tend to rust at the bottom near the battery trays.
Honestly I'd avoid this car at any price, V6, 15" wheels, base model, there's nothing there to recoup any investment, and everything needs to be changed if you want more performance. About the only way to make it fast that won't cost an arm and a leg is Nitrous and that's still not cheap.
For $1,000 you could get a TPI car in the same condition.

Yea, The read bumper mount was gone completely. I've been looking around more and more every day. I found a nice 81, and a decent 91 Z28 with some awful body work done to it, but it doesn't hurt to make an offer.
