When i put my car away to start the "changes" i want to replace the floor pans. The previous owner put some type of "patch" there, its just some flat metal with a ton of "gunk" all over it. Where is a good place to buy replacement floor pans/patches?

I'm debating on replacing mine too. I got into the passenger side really good last night, and there's a spot about 6 inches long right on the front seam that is rusted pretty good. The rest of the floor is generally okay, with the exception of a few pinholes. I hate to rip all of that out when a little metal welded in and a some rustproofing from Eastwood will do. I know most everyone here will tell me to replace it. But, I'll have to get someone to weld the patch, and doing the entire floor will be extremely costly for my meager budget.

if its so thin in some areas that there is pin holes, then the metal is very thin around it and you will not have good luck trying to weld paper thin rusted metal.Originally Posted by Staged84

It actually is pretty solid, with the exception of a couple of small areas where water gathered. I know it would be best to replace it, but I think I can fix it- just a judgement call. I might get into it more and change my mind, but it won't cost anything to see what I can do without buying the new metal.
