axle ratio?
I looked at this today (88 GTA)---was pretty decent. Had digital dash, hardtop, black leather interior.
I was cursious as to the rear axle ratio. It has the 305/auto with rear discs.
Were they all 2.73s?

Re: axle ratio?
Chances are it's only a 2.73 car being a 305. However, it may have been a G92, since it had the disc's out back. G92 was a 3.23; so who knows. Best bet is to look at the axle code on the front of the axle housing on the passenger side.
Cheers!!!

Re: axle ratio?
Klause83Z28 has given you the second easiest way to ID the rear gear and the code will give posi or not(this is how I did my '83 Z28).The easiest is if the SPID decal is still in the car(on the console lid underside or in the locking compartment in the truck)the RPO for the axle code should be on it.But make sure the VIN on the decal matches the VIN of the car.The other 2 ways are to mark tire and driveshaft will give you an idea or pulling the cover and counting teeth or getting the numbers off the ring and pinion.
