88 Firebird LLOOOwww Miles
Hi all,
I just picked up an '88 Firebird with 3600 (yess hundred) miles on it. Obviously it is MINT. However a dash speaker is bad and I'm trying to get the grill off. Any clues on how...?
Thanks,
Snickers

Nice score - I'm a sucker for super low mileage original cars. My '85 IROC has 3,782; my '89 Turbo Trans Am has 1,210; my '82 Vette CE has 454. I finally get to enjoy my high school years ... 20 years later!

You can't possibly have a thread like this without pictures.
There might also be 4 screws along side the windshield.
BTW, If there is anything wrong with your dashpad, I have one in absolute mint condition, minus the fading of the speaker covers.

The dash pad has to be removed because the speaker grilles are secured on the underside of it. There are phillips screws inside the defroster vent along the windshield, and there are hex screws across the underside of the front of the dash pad.
You won't be able to lift the dash pad up very much because of the rake of the windshield, so you'll be lifting it as you're sliding it off toward you, over the steering wheel. Tilt the wheel down as much as you can, and slide the pad off carefully, raising it enough so it doesn't get caught on the speakers. And...

I'll post pics. as soon as I have the time. It is charcoal and silver, L03, auto. I have all orig. paperwork and copies of titles.
As far as cost......not a topic I discuss. Value is one thing cost is another. It is unique and fun so that is all that matters to me. It isn't for sale so I could put any number in and it wouldn't matter. I'm happy to have it and plan on enjoying it.
Thanls for the dash info. Books are ordered but not here yet...
