Re: 1984 MECHAM T/A

There was a 4th gen Mecham in fairly limited numbers. I'm not sure about a 3rd gen.

I wouldn't call that a collectible though as it says in the auction it is a "reproduction".

Re: 1984 MECHAM T/A

Not really rare, not factory authorized. Mecham basically did an aftermarket modification for dealerships. Think Yenko, Baldwin-Motion, etc but without the support from GM. There's a market for them, but it's not as solid as the market for an all original low mileage showroom stock car.

I'd wonder why a 21,000 mile car has the wrong stereo and a rear seat out of an 88-up car.

Re: 1984 MECHAM T/A

I thought it was a cool looking car!!!!! The attention to detail was impressive. I never knew Mecham did a half assed A/C delete like that. Pulled the front air dam off them. Was able to get later model parts before GM even got them.

So lets see if I were to paint the bottom of my black and gold car silver add a big spoiler and a few worthless badges it would triple the price of it.

this guy is to funny anyone who pays more then 2000.00 for this car proves a fool and his money soon part. The seller though is smart though how he words his fake car yet believes its worth close to what an original is worth. I think if you hd to replace the wrong parts with original parts this car would cost what a nice condition real mecham car does!

I also thought the guy was pretty slick in his description of the car. Some people might skim right over that, but technically he is giving full disclosure. And his idea of it being worth the same as a real one is laughable.

Looks like the dashpad was replaced from a later model, too.

Nothing wrong with building a clone. Ya'll are downing him, when he has done nothing wrong.

I think it's a cool car. Very nice build.
