Did I get a good deal
Well a week ago i bought a 83 TA. It has 73,000 miles on it, and im sure of that i know who owned it before. It needs a head gasket and new carb. It has a 305 in it. Mint interior and minimal surface rust. I paid 300 for it. It also has headers and an exhaust on it. Im not sure about the heads yet its gettting taken apart this weekend for a full gasket change. I noticed on here people talking about 305's and 305 H.O. enginges whats the difference and how can i tell which one mine is.

sounds like a good deal. Dont qoute me on this but i think only irocz28's and gta's came with the 305 h.o. i am not sure. Maybe you can ask one of the moderators or a senior member . Some of these guys know their sh//. i know that my irocz came with a 305H.O., but i dropped a 350 crate in.(ram jet crate motor)

WEll considering that the GTA did not appear until 1987, and the HO engine was last offered in 1986, no GTA got an "HO" Engine.
I think you got a good deal, no matter what engine it has. I bought my parts car 83 TA for $250, and thought I got a reasonable deal...
