There was a post about this awhile ago. Do a search. Anyways I have a 87 Iroc that's black and gold. Well it's more black then gold right now, but that will be fixed. Adam :-)

Re: black and gold
no offense but there is like a "how rare is my car" thread on here like every week.
My opinion would be NO your car is not rare, it's just a regular black and gold camaro.
Just saw your thread on the cargo shade...again NOT rare. I see them in the junkyard ALL the time, like every 3rd gen there has or had one.

Re: black and gold
First I must say you have a very sharp looking '84.And to have one and appreciate her at your age.
She is basically the opposite of my '83 Z28(she is code 59 beige with gold GFX-wheels).There were 38,585 total Camaros in '84 ordered in black(code 19).But the number break is not made of how many were Z28,Berlinetta or Sport Coupe. It does appear that the nose of your '84 has been repainted(she's missing the accent stripe).Check out TGO member 2BlackZ28s81&83's extremely low mileage black & gold '83 to see another black beauty. So many are converting the '82-'84 Z28s(and Sport Coupes/Berlinettas) to the '85 and later nose/GFX/rear that the early cars are becoming more unique.
Also there were 52,457 L69 Z28s ordered in '84(have to do a search but I'm not sure if the auto/5 speed car production is given). These production numbers are from the "Camaro Whitebook" which isn't 100% all the time.
And the roll out cover(RPO-D42 20,952 in '84 total)you speak of in your other post is an uncommon sight in early('82-'85)cars but not really rare.Again my '83 has this and the locking rear storage compartment(RPO-D27)which for '83 was part of the deluxe luggage compartment trim(RPO-B48).This is odd,to me.to have both but again not really rare.

Re: black and gold
Great shape, and a H.O. to boot.
Although there may have been a considerable amount made, its the ones that are still rolling that count.

Re: black and gold
You are most welcome for the help. All of us are here to learn and try to help.
On the locking storage compartment it's in reference to the one that covers the well in the load floor(not the one on the driver's side panel). In '82-'83,as I stated before,it was part of the deluxe luggage compartment trim(the side panels were covered in carpet to match the floor instead of bare plastic).Fronm '84 up you could get it separate and in some later year Camaros you could get a Bose audio option that had speakers mounted in the panel(along with other upgrades).
