check between the front seats in the middle compartment for the RPO codes pate
if u have option code (Z28) then it's an IROC-Z.
and make sure that the vin on the plate matches the one u have

What engine is in it? If its TBI it could be either but if its TPI then its definitely an IROC.

The proper code for 89 is Z28. There is no RPO B4Z in 89. All Z28s in 88-90 were IROC-Zs so no special designation is needed to seperate them.Originally Posted by VERTIGO Z28

On a title for an IROC(or Z28)it will generally say just Camaro or Sport Coupe/Z28.This is because they were options on the Sport coupe and not a separate model.
As Scott suggested look for Z28 on the SPID decal in the center console. And as Ajmclean stated make sure the VIN on the SPID decal matches your car's VIN.
Also on the VIN the eighth digit will indicate what engine she had originally. If it's a E(LO3 TBI 305) she could be either a RS or IROC.If it's a F(LB9 TPI 305)or a 8(B2L/L98 TPI 350) then she's definitly an IROC.

Agree with ScottMoyer. I have a 89 Iroc and it says Z28 on the RPO list in console. Also lists in VIN as having 350. That was my conclusion on mine.
On the inside of the console do you have a sticker with a list of codes?
