1984 Assembly Manual?

I have the factory service manual but I have not been able to locate a factory assembly manual for my 84 Z. Does anyone know where I might find one? Would there be significant differences between manuals from a year or two earlier or later?

Thanks,
Mike

Probably nothing super siginificant as to changes...

I am not sure if the Assembly manual actually exists. A Parts & Illustration catalog has alot of that to where you can see where things are suposed to go and what order.

Re: 1984 Assembly Manual?

Thanks. One of the publishing houses I spoke with said the only way one could be circulated is if someone took one out of the factory and copied it. I do have an 82 assembly manual and occasionally see 85 and 86 on eBay.

Appreciate the response.

I wish I could get my hands on an 82 and 83 Firebird assembly manual. I have the 82 Camaro one also, it's close but not quite the same.

Didn't know they made an '82 firebird assembly manual...I see '82 Camaro assembly manuals on Ebay occasionally but none for the Firebird. Same with the Fisher Body manuals...I see them for '83 but not '82. I thought about getting a Camaro one, but not sure of the differences.

Mike

I too have the 82 Camaro Assembly manual. I expect the greatest differences would occur with possiblily diffent locations of components and routin gof hoses and wiring on the L69 engine. Seems as if a good deal of the 82 manual is devoted to the different engine assemblies....

Also odd that several of the sheets in the 82 Camaro manual clearly state PONTIAC rather than CHEVORLET in the title block.

Re: 1984 Assembly Manual?

Well by scouring this site I knew I'd find someone looking for the same manual as me! LOL!

Hi guys! I just signed up here yesterday and was in hopes that someone could point me in the right direction to the same exact manual that MG searches for. I too have seen the ones posted on E-Bay for 82 and 86 Camaros. I would think that somewhere, somebody has either access to one or sells them. I know you can find any year assembly manual for Vette's and Chevelles, but have yet to stumble across an 84 Firebird assembly manual. Being that these cars were pretty popular, I wouldn't think this is an impossible task. If you're as far into a resto job as I am with mine, these things definately do come in handy, as they list part numbers, bolt torque specs, and assembly sequences. All the ones I've seen for other cars were copies of originals, but I'd like to think that maybe, just maybe, there is one floating around somewhere peeps could get their hands on........
