The Begging Of A Beast

hello everyone, so im 19 and in august i jus bought a 89 camaro rs /350hp.....previous to buying it i didnt really know much about them or do i know a lot now but iam reading everyday.....but i basically got it because it wuz a steal so thats wat i wuz focused on $1500 for a 89 camaro wit 61,000 original miles on it.....YES 61000 ORIGINAL MILES.....so after driving for two weeks i noticed that the engine would idle a little wen i would come to a complete stop or wen i accelerated......acouple days later it started cutting off so i tool it to a mechanic he runs test (distributer assembly, fuel pump relay)and i paid him thinking it was fixed i got the car back and it wuz still cutting off so i took it back he did more work free of charge so then eventually he find s the problem it was my "buffering censor" i never heard of it but he didnt replace it he jus disconnected it and it has driven fine ever since but i dont want this to be a big problem in the future so where do i go from here the mechanic explained to me about the buffering censor and said its ok as is ill go faster....where do i go from here.....?

First off, welcome to the boards.

You best bet is to post up some pictures so we can tell you a little more about your RS. Take a picture of the RPOs located in your center console. That will tell you about all the options the car has.

I am assuming it has a crate engine in it with 350hp?
