Knight Rider Dash

This qualifies as History! I know some people here like KR, some don't...
I have a 91 Formula Notchback I've been working on restoring for a few years, headers, SFC, Bilsteins', etc.. etc..

Been saving my pennies for this dash... I should have it in a few weeks...

The ironic part, I'm legally blind and no license

Rafael

Re: Knight Rider Dash

Gotta have tunes

I spent 2 days over thanksgiving dynomating (actually, Second Skin Audio) the car, about 2/3rd's done...

80 sqf of that stuff gone! I just ordered another 120 (probably need just 80 to finish the floor, doors & t roof...) I got some 5.25's I'm gonna squeeze in the dash, more on that later

Re: Knight Rider Dash

damn if you don't mind me askin, how much all that run ya!? i know dynamat is expensive as hell, but you said that you used another company (didn't know others made it, assumed they did just never ran across any) and whered you get it. thanks! Great job you need to let us know how much that helped on sound deadening and sound quality stereo wise.

Re: Knight Rider Dash

Here is a good website to learn about it...
http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

The website I went to buy the stuff...
http://www.secondskinaudio.com/

I bought total 160 sqf of Damplfier Pro... cost about $600...
The pics you see are 80 (half) of that... I did just a bit of the rear seats, not much, so I still need to do the rest of the floor, doors, roof, etc..

I bought some paint on stuff for the outer rear wheel wells too and other types of sound deadening materials for inside....

Me and a buddy worked on what you see above for 2 days...

Just wondering, how much weight does that add?

Re: Knight Rider Dash

Are you going to go full conversion or are you just keeping it as a cool 91 with a robot dash?

Full conversion, but keeping Notchback.

Adding Car PC with GPS, MP3's, Satelite readio (via computer) ecm aldl monitoring, voice recognition, etc... kick *** stereo & alarm too

Re: Knight Rider Dash

Awesome! Do you have the nose already? And if so, which one? I bought a 91 to do the knight rider conversion, but it was totaled in an accident. I have a blue Formy now that I'd like to keep stock-looking. I'm still tossing around the idea of having the KITT dash, though. Maybe in gray...

Re: Knight Rider Dash

My dash is from Don Colie.
I had a dash from Rob Louisell & was not happy with it...

Nose... also had one from Rob Louisell and sold it...
Currently, my Kitt is noseless

But I am getting one from Ken of Wraith Innovations soon.

Have you checked out the Don Colie nose? I'm sure you have, but I think that one's my fav.

Re: Knight Rider Dash

Ken, as Don is a very talented artist....

My budget is currently low, being that Don's dash cost about $8k

Here is montage (I made) of Kens new 1st season nose he recently made...
