Firefox GTA T/A?
I found this while googling:
No talk about the performance of the GTAs would be complete without discussing the "ultimate" GTA in terms of overall performance. The now-famous "Firefox GTA", circa 1989, was the ultimate GTA in terms of high performance. The Firefox was based on a 1989 model GTA and had several special features that elevated above the rest of the lineage, equalling (and in some cases, surpassing) the hard-charging 1989 3.8L V6 Turbo Indianapolis 500 Pace Car. The Firefox was equipped with a 5.7L engine rate at 328 BHP @ 4500 RPM and put 400 FT/LB of torque to the ground at 3500 RPM. The car also featured a 4.10 : 1 rear axle ratio and a ZF six-speed-manual transmission (not to be seen until the fourth generation Firebirds in regular production); there was also a Brembo racing-derived brake system installed to insure that all stops were well taken care of. The Firefox rated as follows:
0 - 60 mph: 5.2 seconds1/4 Mile, Elapsed Time: 13.38 seconds @ 103.5 mphLateral Acceleration: 1.0 + gBraking: 60 - 0: 131 feet (no ABS system)
Is there such a thing?

Re: Firefox GTA T/A?
The Firefox (1989) and Firefox II (1991) cars were both normally aspirated performance experiments by GM to explore the capacity of the 3rdGen platform to handle extreme levels of engine horsepower. Both cars were destroyed after their testing lives were completed.

Go to "The Specialty File".... the cars and their reviews are listed there. The only car from the era Pontiac still has is the blue twin-turbo 5.7L Trans Am featured in the "American Power" article.

As much as we all would have liked Pontiac to have saved one or both of the cars, they were later destroyed.... as Klortho highlighted.
