need help from all you iroc guys out there
ok i fell across an 1989 iroc-z clean title 82000 orignal miles its a TPI 305 automatic white exterior in nice condition and red interior ttops. i wannna know what to look for becuase i talked the dealer into a straight across trade for my 1993 firebird. so what flaws to llok for on these cars and i already went to the website to check all the factory iroc options in that year iroc and it all checked out such as stickers rear shoulder belts and all except only one thing was different and that was the speedo and i dunno why. how else can i find out if it is a real iroc anything helps

There was/is a sticker in the console compartment with the VIN of the vehicle it came with. If the sticker is there and readable, see if the VIN matches the VIN of the car. If it matches look for option code Z28. Chev only made IROC's in 89, but the code still specified Z28. If it all matches it is a real IROC/Z. Beyond that, you need to decode all the rpo numbers on the sticker to see how it was originally spec'd. If the sticker is gone, you can take the VIN of the car to a dealer and have them run a build check for the codes. CarFax will list some of them too and may include the all important Z code, if it came that way.
