Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

Didn't know where to post this, but this car is history so I figured here was fitting.

It just arrived to the Wilson's Auto Parts in Pepperell, MA. They do NOT sell cars whole

305 TBI, 700r4, lots of options, black interior... non leaky t-tops, nothing broken, no bondo that I could see...

No idea why it was there!

It is such a waste and sad to see that, but seems to have ALOT of good parts. I guess one guy's loss is other's gain.

Re: Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

omg, thats horrible. It really saddens me to see how so many camaros are junked off and maybe only 10% of them were in actual major accidents, the rest seem to be in good shape.

but that one has NOTHIGN wrong with it. Id march upto the counter and not leave till they let me walk out of there with that car.

That's just crazy. Around here, a car in that condition gets sold as whole. What a bummer.

Im in NH now lol and i just saw that you live in Mass. Looks like i might be heading over on friday and having a good pick over that camaro. Is that JY a nice reasonable one? And whats the selection of other thirdgens there? The one near me is pretty picked over as far as parts go.

As with most yards I visit, this one crushes anything older than 1994 or so usually. If you are going, I'd go soon. I don't remember seeing other 3rd gens.

As for prices, they are reasonable. Average probably. The more you get the more of a deal you get though.

Re: Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

OMFG!!! That car is nearly the exact same as mine, just a year newer and diff. engine. . . SAME EXACT interior. . . And its in far better shape. I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. Maybe the engine ate itself? Or maybe someone's wife got really, really, mad. . .

I'd try to talk to the owner seriously about getting as an whole. If not, that owner is a F'N idiot. . .

I don't know what's worse- Seeing a 3rd Gen "customized" by some crazy Drano drinking retard or a beautiful, perfectly servicable Camaro such as that wasted in a junkyard.

Well, to those going to pick that poor car, looks like you're gonna have some nice stuff. Congrats. . .

My heart aches a little after seeing this thread. . . I'm gonna go outside and hug my RS. . .

Here, at least when a car is towed, it sits in an impound lot, whatever leans are dropped on the car (Impound fees, tow truck, police fines, taxes) is added on to the ownership, when the real owner comes to pick it up he is left a choice, bring it home and pay the fees, sign the ownership to the shop/impound lot, or to not show up at all, where the car is then sent to the JY to be stripped/crushed/maimed/vandalized.

There was probably something wrong with it mechanicaly, and rather than fix it, the guy just junked it.

I'm in for stealing it. . . Hell the keys seem to be right there on the center console, even though it probably don't run. . . But only after an honest attempt to buy it whole. If not. . .

Then I'm all for the "Smash & Grab" technique. . .

Who knows. . . all it may have is an issue with the VATS!!!

Re: Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

it's entirely possible that the entire floor and strut towers are rusted out of it, which would just make it an excellent parts car. That's what I'm choosing to believe is the reason for it being there... because the alternative sucks

Re: Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

Man that sucks to see a car with such a nice body (atleast on the outside) sitting in the junkyard. I wish most of the camaros in the local pick n' pulls looked that good. Only thing I've seen that was worse than this is a guy a couple weeks ago some guy drove a good Z/28 over the scales and junked it just because he wanted it out of his drive way. I really wish I had had the money to buy that thing, or atleast the engine out of it.

I think this thread is BS. The carpet looks like it has been vaccumed and is spotless. Also the interior looks new. no dash cracks at all. The seats are perfect. This is someones ride.

Re: Really nice RS in the junkyard! :( Lots of pics

i am tired of people taking there cars into junk yards for minimal dollar, and they make profit selling out parts and scrapping the chasis. it pisses me off soo much that they take a nice car like that and sell it for a hundred or two bucks, ill give someone double that just so it dont go there, the other day i went to my local junk yard, i saw a red iroc 350 tpi, a blue firebird 305 ho, a blue trans am with what looked to be a 350, and the list goes on, but what cought my eyes, a z28, origional paint, decals, all oem parts, perfect interior, and very little rust for its age. i wanted to buy it on the spot. people, spread the work, JUNK YOUR HONDAS ONLY, NOT F BODIES!!!

Did you smell the inside? Maybe it's like that episode of Seinfield where they couldn't get the smell out, so the owner junked it. That is sad to see such a nice car be picked apart.

So, anyone know the fate of that particular blue RS now???

Why do I get the feeling its a goner or in a few hundred bits n' pieces and those photo's are the only proof of its existance. . .

I actually never made it out there, had my car in the shop for a fix that took longer than expected and than spent this past weekend fixing up some odd things around the house. I am going to try and go out there this weekend, it all depends on how fast i can get my car up and going. But im not very hopefull, its probably crushed by now.
