RPO Question
Hey guys I bought another 92 rs the other day that's is going to need restoring. The car is a pretty plain jane rs base model but it did have the 16 in wheels and 305 w/t-5 in it from factory but not now. The motor and trans are gone and the three back plastic panles including the rear glove box is gone with the rpo codes. So my question is where besides the chevrolet dealer can I get a vin run and obtain all the options that were on the car? I know they can, cause several years ago i had them run my other 92 just for info reasons even though it has all the rpo sticker in it. But i dont know since these cars are getting old if the dealer still can, cause the last time my rear hatch pull down messed up they no longer had the part I needed. The salesman told me it was dicontinued beacuse the car is to old. Thanks for any help.

Re: RPO Question
The RPO codes for GM go back to 1990 for U.S. cars and go as far back as 1981 for Canadian cars!! You can also try and get somebody at the dealership to run whats called a VIS. This not only shows RPO codes, it can show what day the car was built and the invoicing and selling dealer. For 1992 though it's about a 50% chance your car will show up. 100% coverage didn't start until about 1994 or '95.
