Anybody know where I can get a good crack free 82 Dash pad with the AC vents mine looks horrible also I hae the optional leather interior (or pleather I cant tell it's all hard a grody) and my front seats are thrashed I'm nursing the rears back to life with maguires gold class leather conditioner and there softening up

 

Good luck! I've been searching eBay for some time now trying to find one for my 83. 84 is the best I've found so far. I guess the fact that there are about 100,000 (75%) more 84's than 83's could help account for this.

BTW, if you find an 83, at first glance, it looks real close to an 82. Back in 85 or so, mine started cracking and I traded it for my then girlfriend's 82. The only difference I can remember is that the 83 had a better retention/clip system to hold the defrost vents and the texture was a little smoother than the 82. Of course, in 84, they sloped the rear of the pad, although it will still fit.

If your car isn't subjected to high heat, those new dash caps might be an alternative. However, I hear they warp in high temperatures.

I have 2 cracked dash pads for 82.The difference what Ive seen is the front of the dash is squared off the others are sharp

 

The '82 and '83 are virtually identical as 69-er stated. They both are cut more square at the front than the '84 (possibly '85) and later. They also have simulated stiching along the front edge to match the center console lid. I had to replace the one in my '83 with one out of a '85.
