I've recently stumbled across what I believe to be a legit 1990 GTA, 305, 5spd, ttop car. All original from what I can understand. Its either gray or silver, has those white/silverish lace wheels. From what I can gather there were not a whole mess of 1990s built. Just wondering if you guys would consider this an investment car or not. The only thing I do not like about the car is that its a ttop car. Id prefere a hardtop, but the price is so right.

 

The 90 GTA's were rare, there were only a few thousand built.. But basically they look just like the GTAs produced in 87, 88 and 89. At a glance, the 90 doesn't have anything special to make it desirable... This kind of reduces the advantage of the 'rareness'. I don't know many people who desperately want a 90 and would be willing to pay thousands more for one.

What I like about my 90, is that I get the external looks of the earlier GTAs, but inside I have the speed density TPI engine, an air bag steering wheel and the cup holders that came in the 91 and 92 Trans Ams... (I use the cup hoders a lot )

If I was in the market for another GTA, I'd go for the one you're looking at, especially if it was in clean condition..

Just one point.. All GTA's came with the gold crosslace wheels. if the car you're looking at doesn't have these wheels, you'll have to check the SPID sticker for RPO code Y84. There's an article on the GTA source page that helps people authenticate GTA models.... http://www.gtasourcepage.com/

Should you? Absolutely....

 

GTA's are the reason the horsepower gods created cars! Don't hesitate if it's clean and the price is right.. Just check trouble spots that will affect re-sale value(shock towers, frame, guages etc..) I wouldn't trade my L98 with 5 speed conversion for the world.

 

I dont know about all of that, but GTA's sure are sweet haha
