Re: Iroc Camaro question
Its CAMARO you can either find one with the 305 auto or 5 speed tbi and tpi or the 350 auto only tpi from from 85-89 or 90 not sure if that what you were wanting to know or not, and then theres hard tops t-tops and converts as well. If this wasnt the info you were wanting I'm sure you'll find it here

Re: Iroc Camaro question
Well lets say it is perfectly fine and no rust or rot. Well if I drive it in the snow will it get rusty from the salt or will it be fine? Reason I ask is that I own a El Camino and it will rust/ rot if you drive it in the snow and get salt to hit the body.

Re: Iroc Camaro question
camaro and snow don't really go well together but if it was me id put some kind of sealant on the under carriage if you plan on driving a lot in the snow

Re: Iroc Camaro question
To correct something. 1987 was the first year for the 350. ABSOLUTELY NO 1986's
---------------
If you ask me, driving one of these cars in the snow is not a recommended practice. You are asking for trouble... I would recommend getting a winter beater FWD car for that... you can find a cheap Sunbird or Cav for that...

I guess it would depend on how much snow you get where you are, but it will rust out a car, especially when you consider that the snow packs into the corners, wheel wells, and then the salt accelerates the rusting process by holding moisture...

Re: Iroc Camaro question
there is no guarantees when it comes to rust but something on there to help is better than nothing at all imo

technically there were 50 lol 350's in 1986 built, with fuel boiling problems

True but NONE were sold the the public, all 350 cars that were sold were 87 & newer. & they only came in AUTOS & could come with t-tops.

Re: Iroc Camaro question
You can drive these cars in the snow all you want. I would highly recommend cleaning regularly and undercoating before the weather turns cold. My first car was an 83 Z28 that I drove in the winter in NJ and then I bought an 82 Z. I had an 88 Sport Coupe in Minnesota that was a daily driver and they use a ton of salt. I lived in an apartment with underground heated garage so I was able to hose it off daily. I didn't have any issues with rust on that car. I believe cars built after 1987 had a better form of rust treatment to the body panels. Buy a 1988 on up and you'll be fine. Just take the car thru an undercarriage wash once a week.

Regarding the interior, in '90 there was a fairly major change (updated design) to the dash plus a steering wheel air bag added.

There were no 350 cars built in 1986 and none of the 350 cars had fuel boiling problems. The cars with the fuel problems were 305 H.O. cars and 1986 was the last year they were available.

If you only heard some of the stories I've been told!!! The BS on here is mild compared to stuff I've heard.

Re: Iroc Camaro question
I can relate to the winter driving...I had an 88 IROC with the 5.7 that I drove for a couple winters (only when the wife had the 4X4)... It actually did quite well with the posi rear and all. It was quite the sleeper as I put an RS flat hood on it (non-ornamental) and there was no IROC decals...just a white camaro with 87 steel sport coupe rims and studded snows. I could literally get flames to come off the wheels when I nailed it off of a stop light due to the studs on the pavement...quite the night time visualization!
