Re: Really cool!

3rd gens on american muscle cars?? Maybe powerblock but not 3rd gens. Anyways I love this video. Needs to be saved.

I feel sorry for that poor wrecked one that got spun out early on in the video and the one at the end.

Re: Really cool!

American Muscle Car did a show on the Camaro Z28. It had the entire history from beginning to the episode air date which included GMMG cars. They did show the 3rd gen and mentioned that the IROC-Z was and still is one of the best handling cars made.

Re: Really cool!

The Firehawk race looks almost like a spectator race with some stickers... Everything in there Nissan's, Porches, noticed a Pontiac Gran Am, I saw a few older Trans Am's 86-90 type, and older Camaros too... In the beginning it was definitely a 91-92 style Camaro Z28 however...

Are you using Windblows IE to surf the 'net? If so, ditch it. Other web browsers allow you to snag online videos. Every now & then, there are some I can't get, but only ones that are Java. Videos like these are no problem. I got both videos from here, no problem.

I used to watch the Player's Challenge races in person at Westwood Racetrack (Vancouver) back in 1987.

Looks like that race video in the 1st link was either June 13th or Sept 6th

I absolutely LOVED seeing what a bone stock straight from the factory IROC-Z/Trans Am could do back then. Granted, they had side exit exhausts (no mufflers) but aside from that, it was real stock racing. Not like those races from the 60's where they'd shoehorn some insane engine in a car that never sold to the general public aside from maybe 10 cars.

Re: Really cool!

If you look closely in the Player's Challenge video, you'll see the sidepipes on those cars. Full pics are at the link below.

Re: Really cool!

something kinda interesting i came across a while back. If your car has the gound f/x, right behind the doors, on the underside of the side Ground f/x piece, there are indentations in the f/x that seem to be made to clear the sidepipe tips.

Re: Really cool!

What is interesting is they have in the brochure they reference the cars have an RPO of XO5 or X05 and neither of those RPO's show up.
