1986 Camaro refurbishing

Hi everyone, im 16 and i bought a 1986 camaro, i couldn't find rust on the frame and it was in pretty good condition, but the engine had a broken connecting rod, instead of rebuilding the carb. 305 i decided to buy an engine, seeing as i am doiing this by myself and i dont have much money i couldnt buy a big engine, so i found a 1985 monte carlo 305 H.O. that has been rebuilt to the point where it cant be upgraded anymore, the guy is going to sell it to me for 350$ so i already took the engine and transmission out(keeping the auto trans) and i want to paint it black and get a stereo and everything to get it running, i was wondering if someone could just give me tips on how to fix some problems how to check if somthing is bad and needs to be replaced. thanks

Marc

Welcome to TGO. There are thousands of years of experience on site, so members experienced enough to answer your questions are plentiful. Simply ask in the appropriate section (multiple posts about the same subject are frowned on), and provide as much info about the problem as possible. Good luck with your 86.
