look on the door jam of the driver door. Should tell you the weight of your car there.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
The sticker on the door shows the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). That's the maximum allowable weight of the car including passengers and luggage. It's not the actual weight of the car.
It's hard to tell the exact weight of a third gen..... The options have a significant bearing on the actual weight. A V8 weighs more than a six.. Leather upholstery weighs more than cloth... Then there's auto vs standard tranny, T-tops, power stuff etc...
Your car will most likely be in the 3400 - 3600 lbs range.

I don't think thats correct either. Mine says 3250, there's no GVWR next to it. It simply says "vehicle weight". thats for a 84 Z28. I know it'll carry more weight than that with 4 adults.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
GTA Jim is correct. The sticker on my '87 is exactly as his '89, and the sticker on the original poster's car(an '88) would also be like this. And I'd agree that his car is in the 3400-3500# range. The delivered weight of the car would be on the car's invoice(it's probably on the build sheet, too). But the only way to know what the weight is today of his specific car would be to drive it onto a scale somewhere.
Jim's also correct about the options. Each model has a stack of literature about 1/2" thick listing the weight of each available option: a/c, tranny, seats, etc. He mentioned that a V8 weighs more than a V6, but even each different V8 has its own weight. An LB9 weighs more than an L98.
However, Kevin, you say the sticker on your '84 states a specific weight, so obviously you're correct, too. So apparently GM changed the info on the door stickers at some point in time. They changed the cowl ID tag after the 1985 model year, so perhaps that's when they changed the door sticker as well.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
I never realized that they listed the real weight on the door sticker for some years and GVRW others.. All the stickers I have ever seen had the GVRW. But, to be honest, I haven't seen them all, or paid that much attention.
I just looked on the net and found a door sticker for a 1977 (second gen) Camaro and see they listed the GVRW rather than the actual weight back then too.. I guess for a few years in the 3rd generation they got away from that.
Here's a photo of a 1977 Camaro door sticker showing GVWR

Anyway.... Out of interest, I have a list of option weights from the Firebird 1990 model year. It was provided by GM. There were a lot of option weights they left out. Here are all the ones they listed:
Firebird 2dr coupe (3.1 V6 + Manual Transmission) --- 3106 Lbs
Firebird Trans am (305TPI + Manual Transmission) --- 3338 Lbs
Firebird Formula (305TBI + Manual Transmission) --- 3338 Lbs
Firebird GTA (305TPI + Manual Transmission --- 3554 Lbs
Add extra weight for:
Power Windows --- 4.8 Lbs
Hatch Roof --- 33.9 Lbs
Air Conditioning --- 41 to 42.8 lbs (depending on engine)
Aero Spoiler --- 15.9 Lbs
4-Wheel Disc Brakes --- 18.9 Lbs
Cruise Control --- 4.9 Lbs
Tilt Steering --- 2.2 Lbs
Engine weights (over 3.1 liter V6)
- L03 5.0L TBI --- 159.6 Lbs
- LB9 5.0L TPI --- 164.9 Lbs
- L98 5.7L TPI --- 181.6 Lbs
And finally, I weighed my 1990 GTA at a certified government weigh scale. (The scale is certified because they use the scale to fine overweight trucks)... With 1/2 tank of gas, my car weighed in at 3658 Lbs.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
Your '83 says GVWR, Jim believes that's always been the case, too, and so do I. I've never seen one with actual weight on the sticker. On the otherhand, I can't say I've always paid attention to the door stickers throughout the years to know that's always been the case. So I'm not going to try to refute Kevin's claim that his '84's weight is on the sticker. Afterall, he's there looking at it, and I'm not.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
I was in the car, but I subtracted my weight.
GM states that the base 1990 model year GTA with the 5.0L engine and manual transmission is 3554 Lbs... My loaded Automatic 5.7L GTA that weighs in at 3664 lbs is only 110 Lbs over the base model.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
My Camaro is in the shop right now so I can't look at the sticker. But here's the paperwork from the smog shop. They also listed the weight at 3250 Lbs, with a N/A for GVWR. I thought maybe I was mistaken about the no GVWR, but assuming GM gives you 900 Lbs for fluids, passengers and luggage, then subtracting 900 Lbs from 3250 would put the car at 2350 Lbs. And theres no way it's that light....No Way.

Re: Does Anyone How Much A 88 Firebird Weights?
I have the build sheet for my reasonably optioned '84 Trans Am and it lists a shipping weight of 3,424 lbs. The GVWR is 4,215 lbs.
Generally, most 3rd-gens weigh in the 3,200-3,600 lbs range.
