Re: How old are you?

20 years older than my T/A.....

Got my first f-body in '83 which was a 72 RS and then bought a 67 Camaro in '89 and got my T/A in early 2003 from the original owner. I had two other 3rd gens two years before that. My son just got a 91 rs V6 for his first car. He's 15.

Re: How old are you?

I turned 18 in October. My first car was a 79 Nova that I bought when i was 14. After puttin 3grand into it in two years I decided time to let it go. I bought my Camaro the summer after I turned 16 and I'm around 7 or 8 grand including buying the car. Currently workin two jobs to pay for parts and make car payments( got a small loan to help me buy the car). It means a lot more if u pay for everything urself. Bein that the nova wasva project car I learned a lot working on that. Which has helped me a lot with the Camaro. I'm currently doin all the body and paint on the car and I'm also tacklen a tpi to carb swap.

You do realize that a DeLorean is even higher than my Camaro on my car desirability list. I've been saving and looking for 10 years and each time I find one the value has went up several grand. The cheapest I've found was a shell that had been in a fire for 2500. Eight grand is a good deal (if the car is in good shape). I know they are not the best in performance, and expensive to get replacement parts for, but if you ever find the need to get it off your shoulders you can always send me an email

Its pretty much just because of the fact its an icon of the 80s and
you get ALOT of attention driving them. Its a general consensus that
there are 6000 DeLoreans left around the globe but thats just a rough
estimate. DeLoreans only have 130HP but they are light as sht weighing
only 2600 pounds. Also The cars suspension was designed by Lotus so it handles really well.

Re: How old are you?

Ill be 17 in March. I'm getting my aunt's 86' Camaro Z-28 in 2-3 weeks. I was actually referred to this great message board by my uncle who does all the work on the Camaro for the past 20 years they have owned it. It needs nothing besides some little miscellaneous stuff. It runs fine and i cant wait to start the upgrades with my Pops.

Re: How old are you?

I'm 19, turning 20 in June.

I had a 91 RS (305/700r4 combo, 230k miles) for a few months as a project, I sold it for pennies due to the apartment manager wanting it off the lot.

I just about a 1984 15 year Anniversary Trans Am this morning, it's sitting outside my kitchen window. 350 Goodwrench was put into it before I got it, the automatic that was in it was swapped out with a manual, not sure what kind it is just yet. It's a beauty, got it for 3,000.

Re: How old are you?

23 years of age. Started off with my first car 68 camaro when i was 15 dad and i bought it from a field that had taken the car over. Still remeber pulling out interior d-con boxes and many rats and mice that never made it out of there after there last meal. Since had 89 firebird V6, 88 GTA, 89 Irocz. Wasted the motor in that one young and dumb. Still working on rebuilding that one. It got trashed lesson learned, never leave t-tops off in a apartment complex where your ex-girl lives. It will end up with 10 dozen eggs in it and six bags of trash, not to mention soda all over. since then had a 89 Rs Vert still own for a while getting ride of soon. and a 90 Rs roller. Love these cars and will always own one even if it is broke down in the garage awaiting funds to finish. oh yea had 97 z in there somewhere.

I was 7 years old when the 1st Gen Camaro hit the streets. My friend's grandpa that lived down the street from me brought home a brand new 350 SS/RS one day. The car is still in the family.

I'm 30 and have owned my '83 Trans Am since 2004. My Dad bought the car new; it was his daily driver until 2001. I have just begun to restore it. It has the original 305 V8- never rebuilt- with 191,000 miles on it. I plan to keep it mostly stock, though I am considering getting an LS1 for more power.

21 now. bought it at 17, rear ended someone at 18, put it back together at 19. Now I just need to replace shocks and struts, brace the frame and front end, buy a winter beater, and focus my limited extra funding (college student) on making it faster. all the wear/tear/rot/rust stuff is almost gone!

trust me mines gonna stay pretty stock looking other then a few little chrome things, nice factory like paint, and medium level black tint. and basically stock interior.

Guys, I hate to rain on your parade, but I feel this thread has run it's course. It could run on forever and the original concept has been answered that TGO has a wide range of ages contributing to the content. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
