Thanks man. Im really pissed right now. In my 7+ years of searching for the car, i have come across only this one which was had one owner and was so well documented. Truthfully i think that the guy was trying to extort more money from me. Later on in the week im gonna have a friend email him asking if the car is still around, i have a good feeling it still will be.

Be patient... you have enough of money saved to find a decent one in good shape... with $5000+ you should be just fine.

Had that happen before with a yellow formula 350. Left a deposit on the car and the owner sold the car the next day then left town with the deposit. Shady people in this world.
In all honesty, me being the person that I am and have lusted over the idea of one day owning an IROC-Z (still want one) and if I had finally found it and the guy sold it, I would have literally broken his nose. Just for the sheer fact that like you, I've been looking for a good one for years and unlike most kids, my family never bought me a car. I've bought my own. Both the '86 Trans Am and the '91 Camaro. I'm still saving up and looking for a good rust-free IROC with the L98.
I'm really sorry to hear about that, man. Hopefully you'll find another soon.

I have a clean LB9 85 IROC for sale, in about the same shape as the one you pictured and I cant even get people to look at for $3500 OBO. Its a 10 footer on the paint (clear on roof is peeling), but the interior is immaculate. Ive talked to 25+ people on the car and all I hear is "it NEEDS to be painted" and that the AC doesnt work. If you have that much to spend, you should be able to find a nealry perfect car!

That almost happened to me, luckily the seller was cool enough to honor the deal that we had already made. Don't give up the search, you'll find one.
