right hand drive camaro

Hey guys, I have a weird question. I found an 85 Camaro for sale on Craigslist. Looking at the picture of the underhood, the AC is on the wrong side, "driver" and the brake booster and mastercyl. is on the "passenger" side. I called the guy asking if it was a righthand drive car and he said the steering wheel is in the normal position...
Can anyone clear this up for me? It doesnt make any sense to me, unless someone somehow switched the stuff?
If this really is a righthand drive car what is it worth complete and running with 78k and a solid body.
thanks guys

I guess I will need to go take a look at it to make sure... the pic looks real, I dont know how it would be reversed? Its only a 20 minute drive, so I will go check it out tonite or tomarrow.

I wouldn't think it'd be worth much in the states. I've driven a left-hand drive car in a right-hand drive country--no fun. Scary as heck actually, since I had to depend on my wife for passing advice on two-lane roads! Let us know what you find out. Sounds interesting.

Re: right hand drive camaro

I always thought they were never produced id right hand drive. Not in large numbers anyway. All the RHD cars over here are converted once the arrive.

I'd say the picture must have been reversed like the others have said. There'd be no point sending a RHD Camaro to America.

Re: right hand drive camaro

Not a Camaro, but I had an australian submit pictures of his right-hand drive GTA Notchback:

In this one, I see they didn't relocate the hood latch (still on the left side), but they did relocate the diagnostic port to the right side.

In Reverse gear....That's what I did when my window wouldn't roll down, but I also had a sliding rag sunroof '65 Bug at the time, so it was kinda easy to reach them...I coulda just stood up..

It's just like the episode of The Simpsons were Bart calls Australia to check which way the water runs down the drain. We go clock wise around the drive through and I guess you go anti clock wise. Thats just a guess I don't know if its true.

With regards to the hood latch I don't know why they don't move it, they swap everything else. I was pulled over buy the cops once and asked to open the hood. I got a funny look when I told him I had to hop out of the car and walk to the other side to reach to latch.

Re: right hand drive camaro

Someone asked...

All RH drives were a conversion. Most of them appear to be in Australia. Apparently by law they do not allow LH drive cars on the road. Some crazy law where they think it would distract other drivers and cause an accident.

There were several companies that did the conversions, some were better than others. I do not know much more than that.
