The car looks real to me also. whats interesting is that it is also a 3-speed are. I think in the US restrictions on models was more of a legal/marketing thing. Things were less restrictive in Canada.

You are correct, Canada has different rules and regulations. More recently they are becoming more like the US with trends. But in 1987 for example you could not get a GTA in the US with the 350, T-tops, rear shade, and subwoofer. But in Canada you could. It would explain how this car came into existance. Different rules, different country.

I had someone tell me that the DT500 was NA with the LG4, period.
