Re: NOS Quarters

Sure, they are. They will probably never be reproduced in the aftermarket, and these cars are going to be restored in increasing numbers. It is no secret that 3rd gens are great starting points for all kinds of projects. For someone needing the panels to repair the right car, they can make the difference between saving a car or not. Now, salvage quarters are still out there, and are a great choice. However, these cars have been scrapped in such numbers, and time and weather have taken their tolls over the years, that good used panels will not be readily available to everyone. I just paid $3k for a pair of nos GM quarters for my 72 Buick GS455's restoration stash. These panels have been obsolete from GM for 20 years, for sure, and salvage parts are virtually extinct in my area. Usually, any salvage is as badly dented or rusted as my current quarters, doing me no good. The aftermarket has not yet reproduced complete Skylark quarters yet, though some are on the way, I hear. I would list the quarters online in the different forums, and see what he can get for them. He could just keep them, too, and sell them later on, if demand increases. Thanks, Oldtimer.

Re: NOS Quarters

Yes, they definitely are worth something. I had an NOS 82-92 Firebird driver's side quarter panel a few years back and sold it for $1200.

Re: NOS Quarters

After all the work I went thre to get a GM quarter....I would have paid good money for A new one. I went to the junk yard with a Dewalt recipricating saw and cut a good quarter off of an 85 T top car. I drilled every spot weld on my car and the donor. IT WAS A PAIN IN THE ***...
