What would u pay for a 92 z

I have a chance to pick up a 1992 z fresh paint (pro done) all parts removed to be painted and put back together even the t-tops are painted new fenders bumper and front gfx the only thing is that the guy ran out of money to get the floor redone and the rest of the interior(no carpet and some stuff missing from the inside) what would something like this bring in *****also has the 305 tpi and auto trans and 4.11 rear end

just asking so i dont go into the deal blind

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

i would kill for a 92 z. if its all mostly brand new and just needs carpet and a few misc items id say its worth 2-3 assuming the drivetrain is all in the same shape as the body

What do you mean the floor needs to be redone? New floor pans? Why did he paint the TTops? The 4.11 gears would have me questioning what else was done.

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

Sorry heres more info, the driver side floor pan needs a 12x12 patch replaced and thats all for the floor the rest is CLEAN.(the guy that owned the car works at a body shop said if i pay for the pan he would put it in for nuttin) The trans has a transgo shift kit in it (pro done) with a six month warrt. The motor has bigger injs, custom chip, headers to a 3' flowmaster ex, k&n filter, the usual free mods also but not gutted ''keystone'' redid the rims to fact specs and painted them the same color as the stripes (dodge viper blue) im going to take pics tonight and as for the paint on the t-tops i asked the same ? before i seen the car but it looks bad #%% with the stripe going over the top it makes it look like a hard top car untill u pop off the t's. Every one that seen the car thought it was a hard top i had to explain what the guy did. I hope this helps with the pricing thanks

sounds like you are in love with the car regardless on what you pay. but $3500 would be top unless it was low miles. i would want to see the before pictures so i know it not all bondo'd up too.

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

A hole in the floor pan means there is definately rust in other areas. I highly doubt the car is spotless with only a hole in one location. I would bet that you would be opening up a big-ole-can-o-worms on the car, regardless of how it looked.

Stranger things have happened, but something smells fishy, and I bet it is fish...

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

I thought of the bondo thing also, so i brought the guy thats gonna do the floor with me and he looked at it he said the quarters where clean no bondo and the bumper fenders and front gfx was replaced which i stated above (allready knew that) i cked the vin and the carfax came back clean so thats a + the body is strait as a level. So 3500.00 would be the top on the car, like i said i will post pics tonight or tomarrow i just wanned to see what the car would be worth so i dont look like a fool offering him so stupid price or get screwed on a price

THe thing I do not get is if the car is so close to being done, why not finish it. Why would you lose interest when there is so little to do?

I would suspect another issue, but things do happen...

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

the guy that had it lost his job for getting three DUI's in 6 months= the running out of money for the car came in, so as we all know off to jail he goes any way so he just wants to sell it cause he knows he is not gonna be around for a while

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

The car sounds like trouble to me. There are plenty of Camaros out there with solid floors (heck, the car isn't all that old), and painting over the T-tops just sounds tasteless to me.

The previous owner with all his DUIs sounds like an irresponsible jerk, so who knows what abuse that car has taken.

Re: What would u pay for a 92 z

I just bought a 92 z with the 5.7 TPI. It is a hard top and was in great shape except for paint. Paid $1500.00 for it. The guy was out of work and needing to make a quick dollar so we inspected it and bought it. I would definitely check it from head to toe for rot. If the floor has an issue, chances are other places will too. Take it to a shop and put it on a rack and go over it thoroughly so you wont be sorry. Ultimately you can get a great deal, but you may have to look for a while. KBB.com will give you some idea of the worth also, based on condition.
