That thread yielded zero responses back then, I was just wondering if anyone else on this forum actually has a true 85 IROC H.O. 5 speed?

Actually 1985 you could only get a manual trans with the HO (L69) in 1984 since they did not have another top engine like 82 & 83 had the CFI and 85+ had TPI, the 84's were also available with an Automatic.

So yes there are some others here with the combo, they are not that common, but I know of a few...

I've got one! 5-speed, G80 3.73s with rear discs! I inherited it from a friend of mine who recently passed away after buying it from the original owner 16 years ago. It's in really good shape for what it's been through, he let it sit outside for about 5 years, but the interior is darn near perfect. My 12-year old son and I are going to give it a light restoration to be his kinda-sorta first car.

 

my uncle (carrillo1967) own's one of the L69 camaro. It's well equipped with the 5 speed, the conteur interior, T-Tops, 3.73 rear end, rear disc....etc.

i drove it last weekend from a car show and man i have to say it's alot of fun driving stick! I wish my gta had that and that rear end! I have to say for a 305 it sure pulls pretty strong!....

Thanks for all the responses guys. My H.O. has just under 21,000 original miles and still smells new inside the car. It still has the original rubber on the wheels lol. I've been meaning to buy new tires but seeing how little we drive it, to preserve it's desirability it seems like a waste. I'll try and get some photos posted here in the next couple of days.

 

Another thing is that when we ran our vin number on the car it showed up as a promotional car. Does anyone know or have any information on that?

I would be careful with old tires, they can come apart, I had it happen to me on a car with 15 year old tires, there was about 10K on them looked like new... Not fun...

I have a black 85' H.O. T-top, saddle conteur, mostly original.

Some one should start a registry and track some of the less common Camaros and Trans am's to see how many are left.
