1992 RS/Z28 Help Please

Ok, I need some help. I have a 91 Z28 and have had it for a while so I never really looked much into the RS cars. I need to know what the diff was between the 92 year RS and Z28. I know th emoldings, rocker panel, hood, spoiler and rims. Also the engines obviously but, beyond that what were the changes. I believe the interior, tranny and rear ends were all the same. Anyways, anyone with some further knowledge would be helpfull. Thanks

Re: 1992 RS/Z28 Help Please

Outside of the hood and the spoiler/wing the bodies are the same. Interior wise they are basically same. Different engine options. RS got the TBI or V-6 motor. Z28 got 305/350 TPI motors. The RS was availabe with the same Z28 rims. The embles where obviously different. There are lots of little differences... are you asking the differences for a reason?

Re: 1992 RS/Z28 Help Please

I have someone with a camaro that was originally a RS and he spent about 8 grand and 5 years converting it over. It looks really good and seems to be well kept. I just didnt know if i was missing something. I have a engine and tranny that I am going to put in. It just looks like a Z28...kinda odd but he did a real good job.

8 grand and 5 years? Wow... just buy a Z28 for that cost.

The suspension is very likely different, but that depends on options I believe.

That is true and most RS had the 16 inch wheels.

You are correct, the differences of an RS and z28 are going to be subtle and by this time really blended. Many tried to turn a RS into something else and succeeded.
