WV1, WV2 & WV6
Just wondering about the RPOs listed in the title. Mostly just how they compare to each other since there does not seem to be much information on at least the first two around.
That or my google skills have failed me to an absolutely massive degree.. >_>

Re: WV1, WV2 & WV6
Where did you find that information?
It would help, as there are many RPO's that were never used on the F-body... I can barely make out "Camaro" on the top line that is cut off, but that does not mean anything either as it could be for a 2nd or 4th gen...
So with limited information I cannot give you anything difinitive.

Re: WV1, WV2 & WV6
That image is from a file called "UltimateRPO.pdf" and titled "GM Regular Production Option (RPO) Master List". Unfortunately I do not recall the site that it was on but if I remember correctly it was a third gen oriented site.
The reason I am interested in knowing about those RPO codes is that my Firebird has WV1 (see image #1) and at least a few other people here have listed WV1 in their RPO list but I have not yet seen any answers about it.
I do not recall seeing WV2 in lists of RPOs people have posted.
Right now I suspect that it is simply the "official pace car" badge on the console. (see image #2) but it would be great if all the others with WV1/2/6 could chime in here and offer their observations wrt their own cars.
The reason I suspect it means the badge only is because my 'bird is nothing fancy... Despite a PO installing GTA trans am steering wheel centre cover/horn thing and trans am map pocket and a hood with a functional but disconnected intake.
(not to mention the ratty old camaro seats among other things that I will go into when I start documenting the car and fixing it.)
I figure that if we can get enough people comparing their WV1/2/6 Firebirds it might not be too hard to narrow the real changes that came with those RPOs.

Re: WV1, WV2 & WV6
I suspect that it was some sort of Merchandise package... The WV9 was also a merchandise option for something...
Chances are good it was a package of some sort, but what I do not know, It may have been something for your local region, it may be something specific for the Canadian cars, A special for Canada only package.
After I wrote that I found this:
"WV1 Protective equipment, Canada [probably undercoating]"
http://www.fierosails.com/OptionCodes.html
The link is for Fiero's, I also found several references to WV1 being used on 70's Nova's which was for a White Sky-roof, which I highly doubt it to be.
As for your decal... "Official Pace car Indianapolis 500"... Thats a new one. I have to ask you a few questions:::
1) Is your car a Canadian equipped car? You should be able to tell by the door jamb decal, it should have information stating that it meets Canadian requirements etc. And do you have Mph or KMPH speedo with the correct gauges?
2) Your avatar states you have a V6... Is this the car in question?
3) In 1984, the Indianapolis pace car was a Fiero... They may have used Firebirds on the grounds for some of the festival, but I am not aware of any ( Me not knowing does not mean anything, honestly ).
Thanks

2) Yep, a white 2.8L V6 w/ 5 speed manual
3) I have the warranty booklet that the original owner filled out the cover of. The car was purchased in Vernon, British Columbia during late July of 1984 with 13km(8 miles) on the odometer.
I must say, with all the mis-matched parts on this car that make it look like someone tried to dress it up as a trans am(GTA trans am if you go by the horn cover), I suppose it is possible that the pace car decal was added after it was purchased. That or the console was pulled from a different year.
Here are some other Canadians with WV1.

KCANUUU82Z :: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/thir...odes-20-a.html
1984-Firebird-SC :: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...questions.html
That looks to be all with WV1 listed for _their_ car on this forum so I guess it is most likely that undercoating then.
